SwingShift Melbourne

Lotte decided I needed to run a DJ workshop, so over the past few weeks I’ve been chatting to DJs around Melbourne about the idea. The response was pretty positive, so I decided to put some time into designing one. I realised it would need to be more than a one-off workshop, so it’s going to be a 3 week course, starting on Monday October the 19th at 7pm. So if you’re interested in becoming a swing DJ, or you’re already getting gigs and just want to become an outstanding DJ, download the flyer below. Matt and Lotte will teach a 30 minute taster class at Dexpo, CDA’s free Dance Expo, on August the 8th. Our next swing dance course will be on Thursday nights at 8pm starting on the 13th of August at Yemada Studio, 1st floor, 269 Johnston St Abbotsford. No previous swing dance experience will be necessary, and you do not need to bring a partner. Please wear flat soled shoes.

Matt and Lotte will be teaching an 8 week swing course as part of the Cuban Dance Academy’s Masterclass workshop series beginning on Saturday, 16th of May.  The series leads up to the annual Roots of Rhythm performance.  Classes will be held on Saturdays from 3.30 – 4.30pm at the Yemada Studio, 1st floor, 269 Johnston St Abbotsford. For more information, see the CDA Website.

Matt and Lotte will be teaching a brand new 5 week course on swing rueda at the Cuban Dance Academy from 5 November 2008.  You do not need any previous Lindy Hop or swing dancing experience, but if you do have some you will learn be learning something new and fun!  Classes start at 8pm and the cost is $70 for the 5 week block. CDA is located at: Level 1/269, Johnston St, Abbotsford (corner Park St).  See you there!

Matt and Lotte are teaching a brand new Beginners Lindy Hop swing dancing class at Carnivale @ Suede Bar, 284 Smith Street Collingwood, at 7.30pm every Thursday night, followed by a social dance party from 8.30pm – late.  More info on Facebook.
